Minimum requirements for casting?

I recently purchased a Blackedge Tab 5 tablet. When I open Chrome, there is no cast option available. The cast icon doesn't display, and when I click the three dots in the top right there is nothing there as well. Is my device not compatible with this feature?

You might be able to cast from a supported app that has an embedded cast icon such as YouTube even if casting your screen or a Chrome tab doesn't work.

One thing to add to Jill's excellent responses... the MOBILE version of Chrome does not support casting.

You have an Android tablet.  Use any of the 10s of thousands of apps that are cast-enabled or use the "cast your Android screen" instructions to mirror your screen.
