My Chromecast just stopped working..

Yesterday I was able to cast just fine from my Chrome browser and today suddenly I get that I keep getting the message that my browser "Failed to cast". I rebooted, factory reset, and everything I could find in any previous post. I even connected directly via wifi to my Chromecast device to add it back to my Google Home account. And still I am unable to cast to it. This seems to have happened with the latest update in Google Chrome. I am very frustrated and about to throw away all of my Google products. Can someone help me fix this or do I have to change to some other product. There used to be a very helpful Google phone number which now seems to be disconnected. Dealing with these annoying forum posts is really annoying.

well it seems that I am screwed to be able to use my Chromecast today since no one is responding to this quickly... happy freaking Star Wars day.... thanks for having a update that ruined mine!!! 👿

Hey LeatherDude,

 

Sorry for the late response. I know how challenging it is when you're having issues casting from your Chrome browser to your Chromecast device. To confirm, have you tried casting using a different device like phone/tablets to check if you will have the same issues? How far are you from the TV when casting? What website are you trying to cast? Also, what are the current versions of your Chromecast device and Chrome browser?

 

Please try uninstalling the Chrome browser on your computer. Once done, re-install the Chrome browser then check if you will still have issues casting.
