No audio from Chromecast 4k

I've connected my Chromecast to my TV which is also connected to a soundbar via a optical cable. Everything was working fine for 6 months but now every time I the Chromecast on there is no sound coming out. If I restart the Chromecast the audio starts working correctly but when I turn it off and back on later the audio is gone again

Make sure you are running the latest Update STTE.230319.008.R1 which fixes audio not working issues.

Just bought a new chromecast a couple days ago and fully updated it, thus exact issue is happening to me

Thanks for reaching out, what Chromecast device are we working on? Give the steps below a try and let me know how it goes:

 

  1. Plug in your Chromecast into a different HDMI port on your TV.
  2. Reboot your TV and Wi-Fi router.
  3. Reset your Chromecast.

I haven't done the steps, but it does happen way less often now for whatever reason. If it starts happening more often, I'll follow the steps
