No audio on Hisense TV connected Google TV Streamer

Hi,

I got Google TV streamer couple of days ago to use on my Hisense 4K TV. First, I didn't realize there's no Hdmi cable included in the box, second I tried to buy but not available in the Google store. Then I bought third party HDMI from Amazon. That's why I've been scratching my head because I can't listen the god **bleep** audio. I only can hear for like 2 seconds and goes off. I did some research and found I need a HDMI 2.1,then again bought it but the same issue again NO AUDIO. Again, I thought I might have low quality HDMI, so bought again with some $50 but no still no sign of Audio. Tell me Google, is there any fault on the device itself, did I mess up the set up or Hisense doesn't support the device. Do I need to go Hisense support or Google support? I need some answers please.

P. S. The TV is brand new and I can hear audio through my Pixel buds pro(Bluetooth)

For anyone trying to find the solution:

There is a work around without disabling the HDMI-CEC.

Go to device remote settings ( Google streamer).

Set volume up/down from auto to Google Streamer.

HDMI CEC is on SO you have all the features, but the audio of the tv can't be adjusted. I've set mine to a Standard and i can adjust my streamer audio.

I found this in another forum.

Hi dipeah529,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that when you connect the HDMI, the audio does not work. I know this can be frustrating. No worries, I am here to help! Before, I need to ask some questions to understand better your situation.

  • Is the TV connected to an external receiver, soundbar, or speakers?

  • Is the TV on mute?

  • Do you use an HDMI monitor?

I will be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Manuel

I didn't expect I'd get reply here. Thank you for respond.

No, TV is not connected to any of external receivers or sound bars or speakers.

Nope, TV is not mute.

HDMI montior? I once connected my laptop through HDMI though.

Also, I talked to Google Support, they gave me a replacement but there's the same issue with new device.

Any solutions please because this is getting my nerves now.

Thanks

Same thing to me with google streamer and Hisense u8kq... Google chromecast with google.tv works fine with the Hisense Tv. The streamer works.fine with an old LG tv... Changed cables, settings but the audio of the combo Hisense/ streamer works only for 2 seconds and fades away... Any idea anyone?

Hi Epellumbi,

May I know which version of Hisense TV you have? Mine is VIDAA and I've same issue as yours.

I have the latest VIDAA...

Hi dipeah529,

Thanks for your response. I understand that you received a replacement device, but the inconvenience persists.

I have a question: Have you tried connecting your Google Chromecast to another TV to check if there's an inconvenience with your current TV?

I'll be waiting for your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Hi there,

The TV works fine with older Chromecast, it's only with Google TV streamer. As you see, there are other users who have encountered same issue. May be Google TV streamer is not compatible with Hisense TV (VIDAA version Australia).

I have the Same problem with a Google streamer and a hisense tv! Any solutions yet?

Update: I did find a stupid work around! If you turn off HDMI-CEC on Google streamer audio works as normal but you can't adjust the volume or turn the tv off with the Google remote... Please fix this! I tried turning of the HDMI-CEC features on hisense tv but that didn't change anything...

Welcome to club!!!

Update:I bought soundbar and connected via Bluetooth. 🙄
