Hello,
I have lost the remote to my quite old NC2-6A5 (I don’t know the model of Chromecast), and although I can see it on my TV and it appears in Google Home under Devices, I am unable to use my phone as the remote, as on https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/11221499?hl=en
because in Google Home, I don’t see Open remote on my phone. Should I buy a new remote?
Many thanks.

Is that a round Chromecast? If so, that model did not come with our use a remote. And could not be controlled with the soft-remote on your phone.
All of the controlling was done using the app you were using to stream to the Chromecast (Netflix, YouTube, etc).
That was THIS style of casting using the cast icon on apps:

Yes, the round one. I clearly had no actual remote to replace, then! I may upgrade the streamer anyway. Many thanks.
