I recently moved back home for a while and obviously brought my chromecast. I was just wondering if there's a way to remove a device from the same house and internet connection, so it wont even be available to select to cast to. I realize it's not a big issue, it would just be a little easier not to be able to cast to the wrong tv by mistake.

If the homes router has a guest mode that provides a seperate network, you could use that. If it doesn't, you could pick up a travel router to create your own network within the homes network.

Hi MushyMango,
Thanks for posting in the community!
I understand you're looking for a way to prevent your Chromecast from being detected on your Wi-Fi network. That's a great question! Let me assist you with this.
The information that @GBD provided is very helpful. You can create a guest network that is completely separated from the main one but that uses the same router. If you have a Google Nest WiFi device, you can configure a guest network from the Google Home app.
Another thing you can try is to go to the settings of your WiFi network and block this device using the MAC address. Please note that if you follow this step, you'll need to change the settings every time you want to connect the Chromecast to your network again.
I hope this helps! If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further!
Best regards,
Nery.
