Remote wont respond, no input and no lights

Hello, I just purchased a Chromecast with Google TV HD. I got it set up and everything was running fine remote included, then the next day I tried to use the remote and got no response from it at all, button presses do nothing, the light doesn't come on. Trying to re-pair it in the settings does nothing as well as since the buttons aren't responding. Please help

Thanks for posting in the community. 
I understand the frustration of experiencing issues with your Chromecast with the Google TV HD remote. Even if you just purchased it, it seems the remote stopped responding after initially working.
Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot your Chromecast: 

  1. Re-pair the remote.
  • Unplug your Chromecast from the power source for 10 seconds.
  • Remove the batteries from the remote.
  • Reinsert the batteries, then press and hold the Home button until the LED light starts pulsing.
  • Plug your Chromecast back in.
