I am unable to sign into YouTube when casting from iOS to chromecast ultra. Am signed into my premium account on the app but I just can not link my account or device to it. I can use as a guest though? That does not help me when I pay for a premium membership so as not to see ads but as I am unable to sign into YouTube on chromecast I keep seeing ads. Is this an issue with Google or YouTube? Not getting help from either parties which is highly frustrating. Any help and advice greatly appreciated.

Hi Becca73,

Thanks for posting in the community! I'm sorry to hear you're unable to sign into YouTube on your Chromecast Ultra when casting from iOS, even though you're signed into your Premium account on the app. I know how frustrating it must be to see ads even though you're paying for a membership. I'm glad to help you with the information you need!

Signing in directly to YouTube on older Chromecast devices isn't supported. You can control your cast session from your phone with the account logged in on your phone. Using a remote control, you can use the YouTube app signed out. To engage with videos (such as liking videos or subscribing to creators), continue using your mobile device. For your reference please check out the following link: Sign in to the YouTube app on your smart TV or game console

Feel free to post any further questions on this forum.

Sincerely,
Juan
