Prevent access to Youtube controls from TV remote, when casting

When I cast Youtube (regular) to my TV, the kids can pause, play, rewind, click recommended videos and search for other videos, using the TV's remote control. I think this only became possible recently. How do I go back to a simple mode, where videos can only be selected and controlled from the app?

I know there is Youtube kids, but it's very awkward to use.

Hey there shoehorn,

Welcome to the Chromecast Community Forum! I'm sorry to say, but I don't think there is a way to disable this functionality. If this is something you'd like to be able to do, I'd recommend submitting feedback via the Google Home app. Google takes all submitted feedback seriously, and the more feedback they receive regarding a specific feature, the more likely they are to prioritize it.

I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll go ahead and lock the thread in 24 hours.

Best regards,
Jeran
