Hello!
I recently purchased a Chromecast with Google TV for our kitchen. Initially, I assumed I'd be able to play the audio via my Google Home Mini speakers (2nd Gen) based on the conversation I had with a Google Associate before purchasing. Found out the hard way, that I was misadvised. While I did use their "feedback" feature as suggested - I see articles dating almost a year back pertaining to this.
This morning, playing around with my Google Home app settings, I discovered an "Audio" option under the device settings. However, I can't find any useful articles pertaining to what that is - and how to use it. One would think, based on the setting, that my audio would stream though the selected speaker/group -- however, that is not the case.
TLDR: What is the Audio setting in the Google Home App for Chromecast? What does this do/control?
< BEGIN RANT > I find this frustrating on multiple levels as prior to dipping my toes into the Google eco-system - we've been a full Apple house hold. We use a Apple TV 4K on our main televisions and its so incredibly simple to stream to HomePod/HomePodMinis as well as connect to ANY bluetooth speaker. Google seriously needs to up their "we're working on it" here to keep up with their competriros. This seems like a rather simple feature that should have been considered during its inception. < END RANT >
Lastly, @Google, what's the ETA? I saw an article via 9to5 Google and now my concern is that Google Home Mini's will not be supported. Am I going to have to purchase all new equipment?
