I recently purchased the Google TV Streamer and I was finally able to confirm that my Hisense TV (model A6N) has Quick Media Switching support, thanks to Android 14 on the Streamer, however, it appears the feature is partially broken and I'll explain why:
As you already know, there are three options, Seamless-only, Always and Never:
- When I select the "Seamless-only" option, I am able to see that the framerate changes without a blink on several apps (Netflix, Disney+, Paramount+, Prime Video, Max, Pluto TV, among others), which is pretty cool.
- The "Always" option is considered the legacy auto-framerate function, so a blink is expected when playback starts, besides, this option is the one that needs to be selected for TVs where QMS is not supported and the auto-framerate option must be turned ON inside the app that supports it for the feature to work (for example Emby, Jellyfin, Nova Video Player, Kodi, among a few others) with the exception of Netflix where the feature is activated by default. The problem with this option is that the same apps mentioned above that only support the "Seamless-only" option are still matching the framerate with the "Always" option and that shouldn't happen!, this clearly confirms that the option is BROKEN. The only apps that should work with the "Always" option are the ones where the auto-framerate option must be turned ON inside the app (except for Netflix).
- What's even worse is when I select the "Never" option, although the apps that only support the "Seamless-only" option are NOT matching the framerate, the ones where the auto-frame rate option remains turned ON (Emby, Jellyfin, etc) are still matching the framerate and that shouldn't happen either!. The "Never" option clearly states at the bottom right of the screen the following message: "Even if the app requests it, your device will NEVER try to match its output to the original frame rate of the content you're watching". This clearly confirms that the "Never" option is BROKEN.
I have a suggestion about this:
- If the TV supports QMS, the only options visible should be the "Seamless-only" option and the "Never" option.
- If the TV doesn't support QMS, the only options visible should be the "Always" option and the "Never" option.
I just hope that all the above issues get reported to the appropriate team in order to get fixed.

A little correction here:
The "Never" option is NOT broken, what is broken is the app that still matches the frame rate even when the Never option is selected and I will report the issue to the developer of the app, but the situation with the "Seamless-only" option and the "Always" option are still the same.

Hello Gabriela,
Thank you for your response, I already sent the feedback through the link you shared, my question is, will this be received by the appropriate team that should take care of the situation?. I don't see anywhere else where I could report things to Google.
Thank you for your attention
