search "Google Chromecast Outage"  its global news.  Google issue.  They need time to resolve.

same issue uk

search "Google Chromecast Outage"

its now global news

Looks like it's time to buy a roku

I bought a Roku TV because Chrome doesn't guarantee that the other generations 3 and 4 will stop working for me just like that for a while.

There is a solution or not, I reboot the chromecast to Factory set then Google Home show an error message about they can't authenticate my device and end of story...

A lot of people reset to fabric, me too. Is part of the troubleshooting guide. I've 2 c/cast and I've reset one of them also if I was suspecting that the issue was global

were you able to do anything? did it work again or not?

It doesnt work

I tried removing one of my devices from Google Home and then got this message when I tried to add it again:

You can connect to Chrome cast with a tweek in phone but that is not helpful as it starts giving other error "out dated device firmware"

Hello, I'm having a lot of trouble.
I have a Chromecast generation 2.
I'm trying to install it using the Home app.
However, I'm getting the following error: Unable to authenticate Chromecast. Go to support.google.com/chromecast to resolve the issue

I myself and thousands of people are having the same issues

Heads up to anyone joining this thread that hasn't taken any steps yet. Google replied to me on Instagram at 8am est. They said they're working on a fix and do not reset the device. Obviously that doesn't help those of us that already tried a reset but if you haven't... Leave the device as is. There will be a steps available for those of us that tried a reset already but I haven't seen those steps released yet.

Too late, I reseted. Lets see how they will solve this.

Same thing happened to me if they're pushing an update that renders a device obsolete they are doing bad business practices and we should be compensated.

Fires the New Streamer REQUIRE a Smart TV? If that’s the case I am afraid they’ve done this to force smart TVs on people.

I'm not sure if this will help speed things up when they do push out the fix but there is a way to reconnect your Chromecast to Wi-Fi if you've already factory reset. A Reddit user suggested going into the time settings in your phone and disabling automatic time. After that you can set the time and date to your phone to March 7th or earlier. Once you have your date regressed you can connect to your Chromecast through the home app and get it back on the Wi-Fi. I'm hoping this means I'll get the fix automatically when it gets pushed out but I'm unsure if that will work or not.

It's a not a solution infact it stopped my WhatsApp with wrong date and time

I have the same problem as well, have you found the solution?

https://mensfeld.pl/2025/03/bringing-your-chromecast-back/

You can try this until Google actually has a fix

I rebooted chromecast, didn't work. Uninstalled google home and reinstalled, didn't work. Can't find device on phone now either, unplugged and replaced still nothing. Can find chromecast through wifi though but still can't get it to authenticate.

The devices were built with 10 year authentication certificates in the firmware or bios.  Now expired.  Nothing will help other than Google fixing it.  I'm waiting a week then binning mine and getting an Amazon Firestick.

I have x2 chromecasts that just mysteriously stopped appearing in my network and no will no longer connect to my wifi network, reboot of all internet did not help and factory reset of chromecast did not help.

Same here. This problem is popping up all over the community. So at least its not just us

Same happening with us in Kansas, USA! Apparently Google Chromecast support doesn't work on Sunday, so don't expect a call back today. I have spoken with two reps for internet issues (I thought it was because I hadn't updated my router to the newest one they sent). One of the reps tried to transfer me to support, I didn't get any thing and wasn't disconnected - no ring, no music, nothing. I called Google Support again and that rep confirmed they aren't available today and then "Googled" the issue to try to help me. So clearly the main Google Support is unaware of a larger outage issue.

FOI UMA ATUALIZAÇÃO DE FIRMWARE QUE GEROU ISSO TUDO ...

AGORA ESPERAR OU CORRER PARA CONCORRÊNCIA...

GOOGLE ESTA COM PROBLEMAS

Same in TN, US. Tried all fixes, still won't authenticate. Please help google.

My Chromecast had suddenly become unable to establish a connection with any apps. It doesn't come up on Google home. Streaming platforms can see my device but fail to establish a connection.

I restarted my phone, Wi-fi and Chromecast. I uninstalled and reinstalled the Google Home app. Same issue remains.

I then did a factory reset on the Chromecast. The Google Home app can see my device and attempts set -up. After repeated attempts it 'could not communicate with my Chromecast.'

I'm seeing many many users experiencing the exact same problem - so it seems like something Google have changed.

Hi i am having the same issue..what did u do to resolve it abd get connected?

Does somebody else is having the issue that it cannot connect to your wifi? Or is it another issue?

It was connected to my router until I did the factory reset - now it's not possible to connect it to anything. If you're having problems, I wouldn't waste any time trying to investigate right now, until Google fixes things at their end.

Tal cual. Es perder el tiempo seguir todo procedimiento de Google que existe hasta el momento. Más bien al reiniciar desde fabrica hace que perdamos nuestras configuraciones además de todo el tiempo perdido.

Can anyone help?

I have been using my chromecast with no issues for several years.

I have been using it all day. I go out for an hour and then it won't connect.

I've tried to reboot, reset, disconnect/connect to Internet, turn the device off/on, followed troubleshooting tips and nothing works.

The device itself seems to be responding to the app, as I can see the screen changing throughout the set up processes.

The app finds the device, but then says "cannot authenticate".........I've tried uninstall ingredients and re installing the app to make sure any updates have been completed, but still nothing

Can anyone helps please?

Îs a google error...same problem... for 5 h

Nossa, estou passando pela mesma situação e não sei mais o que fazer.
