Had the same problem since last night until now 😮💨
03-10-2025 05:58 AM
Mismo problema desde ayer a última hora de la tarde, tanto para Chromecast como Chromecast Audio.

Change the date on your phone to the 7th March and it completes the setup
It still doesn't stream but Google says they're working on it
03-10-2025 09:27 AM
Same problem, I thought it was only my device
03-10-2025 09:43 AM
Google seem to be aware of the issue, and are working on fixes, both for people who haven't factory reset Chromecast and for those who have.
03-10-2025 12:46 PM
It has been 2nd day since the issue happened, there's no feedback or even a notice to know what's going and if they are really trying to work it out, but i hope they can fix it soon.

Funny how google can just lock us out. I was thinking about upgrading to a google tv but not anymore.
03-10-2025 11:43 AM
It’s a SSL certificate valid for 10 years that simply expired … now , do I want to wait for a fix that can come within 25 hours to a month or more ? Or no fix ?
03-10-2025 02:07 PM
For those that are stuck with a Chromecast bricked because of a factory reset and cannot reconfigure it back, do this: change your phone or tablet date back to 1st of march, before the problem with the certificate started.
Then in Google home you should now be able to complete the configuration. You won't be able to cast anything else than your screen, but at least you wouldn't have a bricked device.

Efectivamente, cambiando la fecha del teléfono google home puede configurar el Chromecast Audio, aunque sigue sin funcionar. Gracias, en cualquier caso

You absolute idiots. You need to ship replacement devices to everyone affected. Your own instructions told people to factory reset the device. Now they are bricked due to your negligence. You broke it you fix it. Replace every device or expect a class action lawsuit filed this week.
03-10-2025 05:21 PM
The procedure said to reset to factory. What do I do now. Is there a problem if i followed your original instructions?
03-10-2025 05:26 PM
Thanks, pal. Your online troubleshooting page includes factory reset as a step.
How 'bout this as a suggestion to the Google team: Do Not F-ck Up Chromecast. Oh, too late?
03-10-2025 05:26 PM
HOLA. QUIERO SOLUCIONES
03-10-2025 05:24 PM

A mí me pasa lo mismo desde ayer.
¿Alguien sabe cómo solucionarlo? ¿Y ese alguien sería tan amable de compartir esa solución?
Gracias!

I am using Chromecast sense 3 years but since 2 days I found an error when I connect YouTube with Chromecast I reset the device and then when I trying to connect with home app see error we could not syndicate your Chromecast. Please help
03-10-2025 02:59 AM
Since yesterday, many users with Chromecast devices reported an error when trying to configure the device in the Home app.
The error is authentication.
Something like this: ""Your Chromecast could not be authenticated. Go to support.google.com/chromecast for more help troubleshooting this issue."
It is a global problem for Google with Chromecast devices.
Error reports have been reported from several countries on 5 continents.
Probably due to a firmware error.
Let's hope they solve it soon.

I am have been trying to troubleshoot and break my head since whole of the evening today. Tried restting multiple times but the error remains same. Thought of buying a new one as well but not getting it anywhere available online. Its kind of scary for me. Hope Google takes it on priority to fix this issue at the earliest.
