If Google remove support for this product I will remove all google products I have. I have Google Pixel Pro 8 Mobile through work that I can replace in a few Months with an apple product.

I factory reset mine before I got into this post, I thought I'm doomed for resetting it with that message. Hopefully it would be fix soon
03-11-2025 05:34 PM
It's taking long to fix this issue.
03-11-2025 05:38 PM
While I appreciate the "update", this situation is extremely aggravating. I depend on my Chromecast to cast programs to my TV everyday, and I pay quite a bit of money in subscription costs to have access to those programs and it isn't enjoyable or practical to watch them on my tablet. Come on guys...you're telling us you don't have enough technical staffing or cumulative brainpower to have gotten these fixes figured out already?! Please get on with it! These devices aren't just a nicely...many of us depend on them and expect them to work, and if they have an issue, that the manufacturer gets the fixes figured out in a timely manner and out to us ASAP, not DAYS LATER. Until you do, it is screwing up my days and is not doing my opinion of your company any good, either. Work the issue!

Please work diligently to fix the device. It's a great device.I never wanna give it up.

Também já formatei o chromecast, seguindo os passos da resolução de problemas. Tem data pra concluir?

Why does every Chromecast I buy stop working after a few years?
03-11-2025 05:58 PM
Wah. First World problems are tough.
03-11-2025 06:03 PM
I wouldn't be on this page if I hadn't done a factory reset. Would have been nice to know before
03-11-2025 06:04 PM
Are you any closer to a fix? I’m about to buy a Roku at this point.
03-11-2025 06:11 PM
Same issue on first gen Chromecast
03-11-2025 06:12 PM
Is this a problem with Google Chromecast? Because my error message says my TV is not trusted because of firmware.
03-11-2025 06:13 PM
Wonder if you will compensate people for this??? Guess not. Im depending on this to stream tv. Ive paid for this, but yeah not able to do so... you should be by law obligated to compensate people. That would also ensure you gave far better information and updates, plus fix it.
Finally why does your AI gemini advice people to purchase a newer cc, and saying it might not come up and work again??
03-11-2025 06:26 PM
Already factory reset done during troubleshooting
03-11-2025 06:33 PM
Too late as many people have already done that but I'm sure you know that. Sadly this is likely going to be an expensive business loss for you as many people including myself will go out and purchase something else. In today's technology one would think this wouldn't take days to correct. I love Google but this is hard to be patient for.
03-11-2025 06:33 PM
To late, i had reset x 2 and got my other one and tried everything to fix and it kept saying not communicating with my phone and to check my phone settings. Even rebooted router. If there was any form of warning or communication from google, I wouldn't have done anything. We've been down since Sunday Australian time! Pls fix this chrome cast situation. We need the streaming device. 🤯🧘🏻♀️

How long to this is sorted I’ve got 3 tvs and none are working it’s taking ages
03-11-2025 06:49 PM
When can we expect this issue to be resolved, olease?
03-11-2025 06:52 PM
03-11-2025 06:54 PM
It figures that I haven't used the v2 device in the last couple of years having upgraded to the 4k version on my other TVs... But when I decide today to set up a little exercise corner in the basement and dust off an old tv to connect the Chromecast this happens lol. Already factory reset it because why wouldn't I. Will wait and see I guess.
03-11-2025 06:55 PM
lol I already did a factory reset because that's all I could find in the official support website, might want to update that. I only found this thread when I was searching for other brands to switch to as a Chromecast alternative

NO esta funcionando chorme cast! No puedo volver a configurarlo

After problemless function for years it was'nt working anymore. Restarting modem and chromecast without succes I was suggested to reset factory settings. Starting is okay untill the message to download the app. Starting Google Home I succesfully start adding Chromecast to my app Home (tv screen displays a for character code) untill the message on my Phone saying that Googlecast cannot be verified.
Lots of retries all ends with the same error. What to do to make IT work again?
03-11-2025 01:07 PM
Welcome to the club. Its a worldwide issue with a certificate which has not been renewed in time. Since this weekend many Chromecast gen 2 are not working anymore. Google advices not to do a factory reset but unfortunately a lot of us did including me. They are now working on the problem.
03-11-2025 01:13 PM
This might sound mad but if you set the date of your phone manually back to the 8th of March and try again it'll connect and work.
Strange but true.
03-11-2025 01:41 PM
Tried this without luck. Maybe because I had already done a restart of the Chromecast?
Does anyone know when they will have a fix? And why they haven’t updated their troubleshooting guide……
03-11-2025 01:45 PM
Not really true. By rolling back the device date you can connect the chromecast with the Google home app. However, some streaming still doesn't work. Example VLC works! Device screen casting not working!
03-11-2025 01:31 PM
I have exactly the same problem, before past weekend.
I'm waiting for a Google home actualitation or something
03-11-2025 02:21 PM
Same issue. Changing the date seems work to connect the chromecast to the WiFi but I cannot cast netflix or YouTube..
