Well, it's already Thursday evening and still no solution.

I did factory reset as this was recommended when I was searching for solving the issue- there was no information at that time about the problem , neither warning do not reset.

Absolutely  not acceptable!!!

I did a factory reset on my unit and experienced the issue of not being able to re-install it from my phone. But after changing the date to 8th of March on my phone i was able to complete the installation (still cant stream on it though).

A work around that at least fix the issue of not being able to re-install the unit.

This actually worked for me so thank you very much.

And since the first course of action recommended whenever talking to support is to factory reset it, how many are out there with factory reset devices already

Hi. Do you know how long about.  It doesn't work since Sunday

When will this he fixed?

Did not have the patience to wait for a fix to make my property work poperly again. Bought Apple TV 4K instead. Perfect. Love it. Should have switched long time ago.

Ok lets start a class action lawsuit!

what is the fix if I already factory reset them out of options? Have been waiting for days!

we are waiting...i cannot belive that Google is not capable to fix it quickly .Microsoft send the updates and is installed in one minute...

when is this fix , online?

My wife will not be patience, if she can't streaming.

I hope it will work very soon because we watch tv with this every day.... so for now we have to watch on our phone 😔

Please, fix it!!

When ur going to fix it's a week still nothing

Been down for 4 days- what the heck?!

Workaround that worked for me on my Chromecast Audio 😊

  1. Use an old mobile device, update Google Home and set the year to 2016.
  2. Disable automatic updates and forget all Wi-Fi networks to prevent automatic reconnection.
  3. Perform a factory reset on your Chromecast and set it up again in Google Home.
  4. As the final step, add the Wi-Fi network to the Chromecast.
  5. The Chromecast will during the process get the necessary updates.

Enjoy your music again! 🎶

I am having problems pairing my Google remote to my chromecase with Google TV app. Is that also related to this issue? I saw posts about pairing audio devices, but nothing about the standard google remote. Any help would ease my aching mind 🙂

Thank you.

They have an idea of how much Will it take time?

Do you have any idea how long the solution will take?

Any solution yet?

How will we know when a fix has been made for those of us who have already done a factory reset ( as that was recommended as a step to fix the problem).?

True they should push a Google home notification with the fix or when it's fixed

I'm assuming that they will update this thread. It will be a huge challenge to be able to make a certificate change on these devices. I have no idea how they are going to pull it off!

So do you think its likely they will just pull the plug on the chrome cast audio?

My thoughts exactly. The lack of communication is a major issue

lol you are on the communication thread! There are updates from Monday and yesterday! How is communication a major issue?? I'd lose my mind dealing with customers like y'all, these comments are bonkers

If there have been updates, why is it not fixed? What are the updates as I have not yet seen them!

This is barely a communication platform - less technical users would interact with niche forums such as this.

This issue should have never happened!

Some people have reported changing their mobile phones date to someday before 8th march 2025 helps setup/ restore device.. and then you will be in same boat as others atleast..

There is a hack on androidauthority which helps temporarily disable the authentication check causing problem with cca.

Same, i have done factory reset. Now what ?

Change your phone date to 7 march 2025, reboot and try to setup

Cómo?

The devices probably cost google around 50 cents from China. Just replace them all.
