Waiting for the fix. I keep my television on the whole day now so that the chromecast stays active. I hope it won't take days. Too bad that there is no way to download and install the fix by ourselves.

Good news. According to this Reddit post, Google has just started to roll out a firmware update to fix this.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Chromecast/comments/1jafq8x/comment/mhlbb3n/
The next headache for Google will be to convey to millions of users who've done a factory reset how to reconnect their Chromecast to wi-fi, so that they can actually receive the firmware update. It's a fairly straightforward procedure that involves temporarily changing your phone's date/time setting to pre-3/9, but it will likely be a challenge for many non-tech-savvy users. If you've ever tried to explain to your mom how to do basically anything on her phone, you know what I mean. Now multiply that times a million.

I brought a new fire stick, wasn't waiting for Google. They pretty much run the Internet but has taken them this long to fix it,it's a joke
03-13-2025 11:52 AM

Along with the chromecasts, the basic functions of nest mini failed weeks ago, basics like play radio. Plays for 1 minute then stops. I'm gonna buy a radio.

Old school = old reliable
03-13-2025 11:53 AM
03-13-2025 11:52 AM
And what about us who has restarted
03-13-2025 11:54 AM
I factory set and still no closer to reset or solving the problem of being unable to successfully connect
03-13-2025 11:53 AM
O Chromecast não está funcionando, devido ao problema interno?
Eu exclui tudo, achando que eu erro estava nos aparelhos.
Tem previsão de quando volta?
Preciso urgente
03-13-2025 11:55 AM
And what if we have restart
03-13-2025 12:01 PM
Oq tenho que fazer?
03-13-2025 11:55 AM
This is really unproffesional and customers should get a refund or upgrade when it’s been ongoing for over a week
03-13-2025 11:58 AM
I've already changed to a fire stick, see ya google
03-13-2025 11:56 AM
Already did factory reset before seeing this, now what?
03-13-2025 12:01 PM
Manual set the date on your device to 7th March 2025. Then you can reconnect your chromecast to your account so it will becable to receive the solution when available.
Note after the connection it will apper as offline.
03-13-2025 12:03 PM
Mudar a data no meu celular?
03-13-2025 11:57 AM
I reseted my device before I've gotten this email.
What will happen now?
Will I lost my Chromecast?
03-13-2025 11:58 AM
It's a joke ??!?? I did a factory reset because I though it' was due to my network ... You sent a global communication 5 days after the issue !!! ... it's not profesionnal. If a certificate duedate past is the root cause, it's a rookie's issue. WTF ! I hope you will send a fix for people who, like me, did the reset or offer us a new Chomecast ? It's awfull what you did ... 😞
