Tenho 2 dispositivos.

I've managed to get my chromecast linked back to my TV
I've checked the firmware as per this thread and it is the same
So how do I actually start using it to cast again?

Thanks, it works now.

# Chromecast Bug Solution: How I Fixed the Update Issue
## Problem Context
Following the recent bug affecting Chromecast devices, I encountered difficulties with my device that was no longer working properly. After several unsuccessful attempts with the usual solutions, I discovered an alternative method that worked perfectly.
## Step-by-Step Solution
1. **Factory Reset the Chromecast**
- I first performed a complete factory reset of my Chromecast to start with a clean slate.
2. **Change the Date on my Smartphone**
- Instead of attempting a standard configuration, I modified the date on my phone to set it to an earlier date.
3. **Configure the Chromecast with the Modified Date**
- I then proceeded to configure my Chromecast while my phone was set to this past date.
- This allowed the Chromecast to start the update process without encountering the current bug.
4. **Successful Update**
- The Chromecast was able to download and install the update correctly.
- The device restarted after the update.
5. **Return to the Current Date**
- Once the update was complete, I set my phone and the Chromecast back to the current date.
- The device is now perfectly functional.
## Why Does This Method Work?
It appears that the current bug is related to a date verification or certificate issue in the latest version. By setting the device to an earlier date, we allow the device to access a firmware version that is not affected by this problem.
## Conclusion
This simple but effective solution allowed me to regain the use of my Chromecast without waiting for an official fix from Google. I hope this trick can help other users facing the same problem.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about the procedure!

A lot of people including me have factory reset the device while troubleshooting. Waiting eagerly for an update on that.
If I try to add chromecast as new device now through google home it does find it over bluetooth but fails to connect.

Bonjour,

I am still not able to setup my device, as I have made a reset 😞
Please help
03-15-2025 07:16 AM
For those who performed a factory reset, simply manually set your smartphone date before march 9th and pair your Chromecast again, it will connect correctly and download the latest firmware.
03-15-2025 07:17 AM
I still have a problem to authentication between GoogleHome and Chromecast device in registering operation. I had already reset my device , before your communication.
03-15-2025 07:24 AM
03-15-2025 08:25 AM
Setting the date back on smartphones seems to solve the factory reset issue. It has helped alot of people here in the chat.
03-15-2025 08:32 AM
I did factory reset when trouble first started. Android and iPhones still can’t communicate with chromecast.
03-15-2025 08:32 AM
For those who did perform factory reset, change the date of your phone at before March 6th (for example March 1st) and redo the setup of the chromecast.
It should works
03-15-2025 08:40 AM
Have performed factory reset and error is "couldn't not communicate with Chromecast" Awaiting for resolution.
03-15-2025 08:45 AM
03-15-2025 09:18 AM
So I went a step further after factory resetting and removed the device from my Google home in hopes of reinstalling it and it working. Now I don’t have the option to update my firmware. Any suggestions on how I can proceed from here?
03-15-2025 09:22 AM
I did the reset (of course). But today I could easily re-install my CCA, fist time failed, second time succesfully. Done.
03-15-2025 09:25 AM
When trying to access Chromecast,I'm getting the message "Couldn't communicate with your Chromecast"
03-15-2025 09:26 AM
I performed a factory reset. What do I do now?
03-15-2025 03:42 PM
Go to settings on your phone, change the date to March 5th, perform setup again once completed switch you're phone back to correct date.. this should fix it
03-15-2025 09:30 AM
Ça ne fonctionne toujours pas
03-15-2025 09:35 AM
Unfortunately, I did a factory reset due to the desperation of so many days without the system. I hope there is a solution.
03-15-2025 09:37 AM
I am one of the customers that performed a factory reset. Unfortunately, at that same time, I also removed my device tile for Google Home. I tried to add it again without success. So I cannot access my Chromecast firmware version to see what it is. Anyway, I have not received any fixes for someone who did a factory reset. Can you help?
03-15-2025 09:47 AM
Still not working due to reboot. Cant wait for it proper fix
03-15-2025 09:51 AM

03-15-2025 09:57 AM
I did a factory reset, so I continue having issues, waiting for your help please.
03-15-2025 10:00 AM
For iPhone users you can turn all your location services off which will allow you to change your date and time. I was able to update my firmware by doing that and changing the date like suggested by many users
03-15-2025 10:20 AM
When will a fix be released for people who did a factory reset?
03-15-2025 10:26 AM
CASTAÑON SORIANO HUGO
