I have three Chromecast Audio device. I factory reset two before I saw the warning here.

On Friday, the fix came through for the one Chromecast Audio device that was not factory reset.

Today, I was able to fix the two remaining Chromecast Audio devices!

By manually adjusting the date on my phone to the day before the Chromecast's security certificate expiration date (March 9, 2025, the root cause of the problem) I was able to set them up, allowing the firmware fix from Google to install.

All of the (3) Chromecast Audio devices are now operating beautifully!

Still having no luck with the chrome cast g2.

this is starting to feel like a  bug that will require a new purchase …  iPhone like.
not happy

I did a reboot not factory reset and home finds chromecast but won't set up ..gets communication error

To work, you need to set your date on the phone to a date before 9 mars, then You can set up the chromecast and it will download the new update. It worked for me.

The tip to reset the phone clock to March-5 worked just now, ~8gmt 2am PDT seattle.  Be sure to reset the time back to automatic after the update finishes, otherwise the audio wouldn't cast.  Happy now.

How come my Chromecast is totally dead now? Like no light anymore. Is this a common thing with this worldwide issue?

The chrome cast device is not connecting with the TV. Casting is not working and showing as outdated version.

When setting the date on your Android device to 8th of march or earlier you can setup the device. It will update and after you can set your date back to normal. Everything will work as before.

I don't think my android device allows me to change the date and time

I already did factory reset. When this issue will be fixed?

When are you going to sort the issue out?

And how are you going to go about compensating your customers for this grevious error - as I'm sure you'll agree that your customer service has been distinctly lacking along with your communication skills!?

It’s been a week from atleast I got to know about it.. when will this get resolved??
