I'm waiting for updates about who already reset the device during the trouble

the chromecast has be factory reset, I cant access it at all to fix it. Can you please put a public notice up when the fix for that situation becomes available.

Change your device date for 8th March or previous, try to connect Chromecast again, do the installation normally.

After that, it will get the update by itself. When finish, just put your phone back to the actual date.

Hope it helps.

Fantatic! It works and I did'nt do a thing!! Thanks Google!

IF YOU DID A RESET, follow the steps:

Change your phones date to 8th March or previous;

Try to connect to your Chromecast via home;

Finish the installation as before the firmware trouble appear;

The device will get the new firmware update by itself once it gets internet connection.

Once you finish, change your phone date again.

It works for me!

This morning, the fix reached my Chromecast Audio, and for those confused about how it's going to work, I'll describe what I found.  I'd removed the device from my Google Home but had not done a factory reset.  The bug caused the device to disappear and prevented me from adding it back.  I checked my WiFi hub and found that I had an IP address for it, and used Windows Command Line to "ping" the device and received a response, so I was comfortable waiting for the fix.

This AM, when I went to Google Home, I found the device listed as a "local device", and was able to move it to the correct room in my house (Deck), and cast to it as usual.  It was not necessary for me to unplug and plug it in again to receive the update, or do anything except get it into the right room.

Stats on support if it has been factory reset

Still not authenticating, did not factory reset, tried reboot. It's now Sunday. Thanks.

Here’s a clearer and more professional way to phrase your sentence:

Can you provide an estimated date for the solution for those who performed a factory reset?

Mijn chromecast werkt terug ondertussen.

Im unable to re-add my device after removing it before seeing this notice. Is there any update?

I performed a factory reset and used a workaround to solve the problem. I set my smartphone's date back to March 6th, then cleared the cache and data of the 'Google Home' and 'Google TV' apps. After that, I was able to connect, and the Chromecast successfully updated its firmware.

I have already performed a factory reset, and it is not connecting yet. Please provide a solution.

I did factory reset. Now I cannot setup the Chromecast device. What do I do?

I still can’t connect my Chromecast and my other devices has disappeared from the app (even though they work from other apps as Spotify)

Thanks community re changing date, it worked, woohooh!

but do you think this trick will work if the device was reset?

So how long is the fix going to take for those of us who did a factory reset?

I hope this helps ..I followed advice from previous community member

I had already factory reset my chrome before being warned not

So this is what I did ...

I changed date on my android phone to 7th March .

I searched for cast device through home again and it connected to it easily again.

Had a little weird back and forth where it said it hadn't connected yet it had on the TV .

The Chromecast started an update which also stopped and started but I let it do it's thing and it completed and restarted itself.

I did a hard reset/reboot on my phone (you know,where you hold the on/off button for ages and then reset)

I set the time and date back to automatic in settings on my phone.

This seems to have fixed the cast problems and am very happy to have my chrome cast back again ,I didn't know how much I would miss it .

Hope this helps
