Hey folks,
If you previously performed a factory reset, we’re happy to report that the Google Home app update will reach all users today.
Please make sure you’re on version 3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio. Check out this help center article if you need help updating the Google Home app.
If you’re still experiencing problems during setup, please reach out to customer support for further assistance.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices. As of today, this disruption has been fixed.
If you did not perform a factory reset, your device should now function normally. If it is still not functioning as intended check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
For users who have performed a factory reset, you will need to update your Google Home app to the latest version (3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS) to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) or Chromecast Audio device again. The app roll out has begun and may take a few days to roll out to everyone. We’ll post a confirmation once the roll out to all users is complete.
We sincerely apologize for this disruption and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we are committed to ensuring all users are back up and running as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, we have some good news - the fix should reach all users today. If your device has received the update it should be on the following firmware versions:
Chromecast (2nd gen): Firmware version 1.56.467165
Chromecast Audio: Firmware version 1.56.467166
Check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
Please note: If you performed a factory reset during the troubleshooting process, you may still be experiencing an issue where you cannot re-setup the device. The team is working diligently to resolve this, and we will provide next steps as soon as possible.

Coloca o telemóvel com data de 8 de março, abre a app home e configura o chromecast. repoe a data e testa.

Você precisa voltar a data do seu dispositivo antes do dia 9 de março, qdo fizer isso tente conectar , eu resetei de fábrica o chromecast, ele vai conectar meu caso deu certo, se ele falhar no whats é normal de data anterior, depois que conectar volte para data do sistema automatica

Atualize o Google Home em seu Iphone. Depois desligue e reinicie ele novamente. Se vc resetou para os padroes de fabrica o Chrome, com a atualização do Google Home ele irá atualizar seu Chrome para a versao atual e ai depois vc configura.

I am sorry this is in English, but do the reset with phone set to date of 3/8 then wait. The unit communicates with the google server, then the certificates is updated.

Well, you'll have to put them back.
1. On the google home app, put your device back to the original home
2. Then set it back in the room it was before.
3 . Google will link your account to that device.
4. In the next step tap on the device on your google home app and you will have the option to Personalize Ambient
Now just walk through the options that suits you.

Change the date of your phone earlier than march 9th ( I chose march 3rd), them retry the Chromecast setup with Google home. You'll be able to connect the Chromecast to WiFi again. The hot fix will then be pushed on you Chromecast ( I waited a couple of hours before being able to cast YouTube but I assume the hot fix deployment is faster)

You can set it up by setting the date on your smartphone to a date before march 9. Then use Google Home app to set up the Chromecast.

J'ai changé la date sur mon téléphone pour le 07/03/25 et après avoir ouvert l'application HOME j'ai pu me connecter et installer la mise à jour. Il fonctionne de nouveau.

manually set the date on your phone prior to march 9th, something like march 7th
Then open google home and set the device up, it will connect as a new device. Once it's on your wifi network, sit back and wait for the pushed update fix, feel free to set date back to current on the phone once the chrome cast device is back on wifi
