If you have done a factory reset, then on your phone ( or whatever you connect yo you chromcast with) change the date back to before the problem. I used the 9th March.

Set up the chromecast on goggle home.

Chromecast will then connect and update.

Wait for chromecast to then update and then you can use as normal.

Don't forget to cahenge date again on your phone

Can not casting to tv  what can I do

L E I V I

For those who have factory reset: Change the date of the phone/device you are casting from to March 6th and you will be able to connect to Chrome cast. After connecting you will receive the update and it will work.

Suerte!!!

Hello,
I just updated the Google Home app to the newest version that was suggested today and I still can't connect?

I'm having the same issue... read through all the help screens etc but the Google Home app does not see this Chromecast or an older Nexus TV devices on the same Wifi network etc.

Great news! It's resolved now and has been working for me as of today.

2nd generation Chromecast model NC2-6A5: I reset the device to factory default, following the series of suggested fixes issued by Google. As others have mentioned, I could no longer connect to the device to set it up. Following the advice noted in this thread, I set the phone's date to March 6. I was able to connect to the Chromecast and get it back on WiFi, so others that mentioned a certificate expiry issue may be right. I still cannot connect to the device to stream anything, but with fingers crossed , Google will be able to push the fix to my device. Thanks for the good advice!

Gracias, voy a probar
