03-11-2025 09:22 AM
niente, l'ho fatto anche io. Dobbiamo solo attendere che Google aggiorni l'app. Poi ripartiremo dalla configurazione. Niente di che.
03-11-2025 09:21 AM
I did a factory reset 😡 Why didn't Google announce the issue sooner?
03-11-2025 09:52 AM
Look at other posts asking this question. Directions on how to set up your Chromecast have been posted. You're Chromecast won't work, but it will not be factory reset anymore.
03-11-2025 09:24 AM
Any timeline when can we expect the solution?
03-11-2025 09:25 AM
As we can see, after 1750 unanswered posts, Google is not nest but nasty. I have never seen a company treat it's customers like that. Thanks Google to expose your real face. Not need an update anymore

Agree!
03-11-2025 09:27 AM
Sort it out will you... Piss take billionaires
03-11-2025 09:26 AM
It s outrageous. Without warning or any explanation? First I Scoured the internet,no info there (and yes I do know how to use Google search) I did what any sane person would do and reset the device to factory settings. Since that didn't work I retrieved another Chromecast from my drawer and that was my fix. I am curious how long it will take the brilliant minds at Google to fix this problem that hit millions of users
03-11-2025 09:29 AM
I have the same problem. Do you know how long it can take to fix the problem? Thank
03-11-2025 09:35 AM
Hi, for those who already factory reset, will you publish new instructions here or somewhere else?
03-11-2025 09:50 AM
If you factory reset your Chromecast, you can fix it this way. Manually change the date on the device you use Google Home to March 8 or earlier, and you can set up your Chromecast. Then change the date on your device back to what it should be. You won't be able to use your Chromecast, but it won't be factory reset anymore.

I'm looking for other streaming options. It's just not okay for this problem to take so long to fix. This makes me loose confidence in Google solutions.
03-11-2025 09:45 AM
The problem itself could take some time. I could see up to a week. However, communication would have been the easy part. I agree that they should have let us know or made some type of announcement and keep us in the loop. It is poor customer service that they've avoided making any kind of public statement.

My chrome cast not working . Can I get a refund ?
03-11-2025 09:37 AM

Gracias!

Chromecast authentication error; cannot be authenticated or connected to the wifi network
Since yesterday, the Chromecasts have unexpectedly disappeared from my Wi-Fi network. When I try to configure them again, I continually receive an error message that the device cannot authenticate with my mobile device/tablet. Following the instructions on Google Help, the factory settings have been restored. What will I do? It turns out that it is not advisable to do so. When will there be a solution to this problem?

I have the gen3 that is not working…

SILENCIO COMPLICE...!!!

We're 64500 views later, did anyone at Google issue a reply yet?

They silently turned off dozens of millions of users, do you believe they care about 65K?
Good because they show who they are, the most disrespectifull company ever seen

Hi Google Team:
On March 10th, the day of the outage, I was trying to cast content normally but I couldn't. I was looking for outages and I didn't find any information on the internet.
I hope you can fix the issue, because the hardware (the device) it's still good. I spent the entire day trying to resolve the issue.
Please send a notification or email for people with the Google Home App. Like that we can read and follow your instructions to setup the Chromecast again.
Thank you.

I don't see how to set my phone to an earlier date... I wondered if it had to do with the time change on Sunday in the US. The whole thing's just annoying, Class action suit maybe for pain and suffering? 😂 and access lost on all the streaming platforms we subscribe to?
03-11-2025 09:42 AM
03-11-2025 09:44 AM
Are you going to force us to buy a newest device? I didn't expect from you---- I guess, you're wrong this time. Thought Google was different
03-11-2025 09:43 AM
I I have already reset the data...now what do I do? Do I throw everything away?
03-11-2025 09:51 AM
03-11-2025 09:53 AM
Set your phone to march 8, you can get it back on the wifi but you can’t stream. We all have to wait till google comes with a update.
03-11-2025 10:08 AM
Thanks, haha, googled how to do it and did it. It said it was connected of course it doesn't actually work, but perhaps as you suggest it is no longer "factory reset." You are so clever! Thank you!
03-11-2025 09:55 AM
no, expose google at all your social media
03-11-2025 09:48 AM
Frustrating. Waste of time.
03-11-2025 09:49 AM
I have three Chromcast 3rd GENERATION installed in my house and all of them stopped working on March 09, 2025. Is necessary Google to be aware that the Chromecast failure is not only with 2nd Generation devices.

03-11-2025 09:54 AM
Whay do you do if you've ALREADY factory reset?
I literally cannot link my phone to the Chromecast anymore!
