Remote not powering off TV

I installed the Google Streamer. The remote controls the volume and the tv turns on when I power on the Streamer but the TV doesn’t turn off when turn the streamer off. The TV is configured for CEC devices auto. I’ve unpaired and re-paired the remote with the same result. How can i fix?

Hello,

Besides turning on HDMI-CEC, you must also setup the power button, go to settings -> remote control settings -> power button and make sure the TV(CEC) option is selected.

For the volume keys, I imagine the Auto(CEC) option is also selected.

That didn’t work.
TV (CEC) is now selected.
Volume is Auto (CEC)

What TV do you have?

Make sure that besides HDMI-CEC, there are other related options that need to be turned on.

the Firestick controls the on/off of the TV.

Why do you have the system standby unchecked?, I believe that's the option to be able to turn off the TV.

Cause I tried it checked and unchecked and believe it’s about when devices go to sleep, not powered off. If you read it.

but. I just tried it and that resolved the issue. I stand corrected. TYVM.

"Cause I tried it checked and unchecked and believe it’s about when devices go to sleep, not powered off. If you read it."

The option is clear:

- if you turn off the TV with its own remote control, all devices connected to the TV will also power off, provided they are also setup to respond to that command.

- If you turn off the Streamer's with its own remote control, the TV will also power off.

I'm glad it works for you now.

Enjoy!.
