Screen Mirroring not working on Chromecast

Assalam-o-Alaikum,

I am facing issues in screen mirroring my samsung galaxy A52 on chromecast 4th generation. It says, "This devive is not optimized for casting, your experience may vary" amd nothing goes after the volume control screen.

Although mirroring is working in Oppo and Infinix Phones and Samsung Tablet A8 as well.

Hi there,

Not all devices will work with Android screen casting. If you are seeing that message it is likely your phone is no longer supported fully.  See this help page for some details: Improve your Android screen casting experience - Chromecast Help

Hiya adnannuhrio,

No problem! We have a checklist of different settings that need to be activated/deactivated to allow Screen Mirroring to work, here is the list:

  • Cast screen is available on devices that run Android 6.0 or higher.
  • Screen casting via the Google Home app isn't supported on Windows and iOS devices.
  • To start screen casting, Power Saving Mode must be turned off.
    • Power Saving Mode can limit the processing power of Android devices which might affect the performance of the Cast screen feature.
  • You must allow Google Cast to use their network information.

Important:

Google Nest and Home speakers or displays and Chromecast devices might not be discoverable for mobile devices on Android 12.
During setup, your mobile device might ask you to "Allow Google Cast to use your network information."

Go to Settings and then Use network information Onand then Continue

You also have the option to select Not now, but if you select this option, you can’t continue with setup.

Important: The Microphone permission in the Google Play Services app needs to be turned on to successfully use the Cast screen or audio feature with Chromecast. If you don't have this permission turned on, the Cast screen session immediately disconnects after it attempts to connect.

To turn on Microphone permissions:

  1. On the Android device, tap Settings .
  2. Scroll down and tap Apps and then Google Play Services and then Permissions.
  3. Look for Microphone and slide the slider on On.

Go ahead and follow those steps, and let us know if that helps!

Best regards,

Jeran
