I experience slower internet speeds with the google TV streamer.
I have a 1.2gb connection through my isp.
I have the streamer wired connected.
Cable from main router to a splitter and then to several devices.
All devices reach speeds of 800mb/s (even wireless through WIFI).
Google streamer doesn't reach more than 300 mb/s (wired with cat 6 cable).
Switched cable and port on splitter and tried other devices with the same cable.
All devices reach over 800mb/s except for the google tv streamer.
Is there anything i can try before sending it back for repair?

Hey Robin
This issue is actually quite common with Google TV streamers when using gigabit connections. The hardware Ethernet adapter for the Chromecast/Google TV is limited to 100 Mbps, even though your overall network supports 1.2 Gbps.
Here’s what you can try:
1️⃣ Use a USB-C to Gigabit Ethernet adapter (with power passthrough) that supports full gigabit speeds.
2️⃣ Go to Settings → Network & Internet → Ethernet and check if the IP and DNS are being assigned properly.
3️⃣ Try setting Google DNS (8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4) manually to see if latency improves.
4️⃣ If you still cap at ~300 Mbps, it’s likely a hardware limitation rather than a fault.
Hope this helps.
