Problem with Chromecast since day one. I get this alert a lot of times using apps like Paramount Plus, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime and HBOMAX - Something went wrong Please try again later.

What I did, I clear cache

I force stopped the app and re-open it.

I signed out and signed back in.

I removed the apps and reinstalled them, no luck.

I factory reset the device twice and no lock.

There were times that I was able to stream without any issues. However, a lot of times you will see the circle in the middle of the screen circling either looking for a network or just buffering.

I returned the device on Aug 7th to Amazon for a replacement and hopefully crossing my finger the replacement works fine.

I went back to using the Firestick 4K Max and no issues at all.

I have Spectrum internet with upload speeds of 300megs and plus. I also use the 3 pack Google Wifi mesh with internet speeds around 250 to 350 megs with all 3 meshes working outstanding.

I purchased my first Chromecast on July 11, 2022. Because two of us in our house hold could not cast to our Samsung TV with our new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro phones. With older phones like Samsung S8 and Oneplus we wee able to cast. I really do not know why the Pixel cannot cast when all other phones including IOS works fine.

I have been a long time user of Amazon Firestick and the last one I was using is the Amazon 4K Max. I never had any issues with buffering or apps preventing me from watching a show.

Hi, I have been trying to find a solution to this issue along with many other users. I ended up replacing my CCwGTV and just today, on the same day the new one arrived, I tried one more thing on the old one and seemed to have fixed it. From what we all can tell the issue stems from starting the YTTV app and then when switching to another 3rd party app the issue then occurs. Try restarting the device then immediately streaming a 3rd party app to see if it works. If you start YTTV then switch to another app, it may not play a video. You can Force Quit YTTV in the settings and try a 3rd party app again to see if that works. Those are workarounds for this issue. However, my old one started to work properly again today. It was one thing that you should try that is buried in settings for apps.

Open Settings, Go to Apps, Manage Updates, See Available Updates, then Install any Pending Updates. Specifically if there is one for Google TV Home (July 27, 2022)

Let us know if that helps. Even though auto update is set, there were still some pending (for quite a while) and it worked after they were installed. Good Luck!
