Streamer 4K Add a Kid Sign-in Loop

Brand new Streamer 4K, setup with the supervisor account, then when trying to "Add a kid" under accounts

 

- Select Kid

- Entered Kids Password

- Select supervisor account to confirm

- Complete 2 factor authentication to allow kid to log in

- Setup screen goes from "Setting Up Supervision" to "Finalizing" then reprompts for kids password again. After completing this loop 2 times, receive a toast message "Something went wrong"

 

Streamer 4k is full up to day. All apps on Streamer 4k up to date.

 

I do receive an email saying the kid signed into the Streamer, but obviously it doesn't on the device and it doesn't show up under Family Link.

Me too. Brand new 4K streamer. 

the server cannot process the request because it is malformed.

The same problem. Login->Accept->Download config and loop, again the same screen.

Has anyone here actually received the update that is being rolled out?

Imho, I don't think that any update has been released. It's just bs to calm people down and buy more time.

Same here. I just bought 4k streamer for parental control and now am facing this issue. Totally wasted my money and time.

I sent the product back to the seller. This was supposed to be for kids, but this feature doesn't work.

I have good news: I just tried adding the child account my Chromecast 4 and it worked!

The account was properly created and I was able to set it up, including the child profile in YouTube.

That's great news! On my side, however, it still isn't working, and the problem persists. I'll wait for the next few days to see if the update reaches me.

Yes, give it a bit more time. It was not working for me earlier today.

I was in touch with Chromecast support and they said that the fix should be rolled out to everyone by the end of the week.

No software update. I did clean the cache and rebooted the Chromecast before trying it but I cannot confirm if that is needed.

I just got the TV streamer yesterday 9/11 and same issue with a loop going back to enter my kids password. Any updates on this? Glad to know I wasn't going crazy 🤣

I had the same issue. I was finally able to login to my kids profile by uninstalling the updates for Google Play services and Google TV. I'm using a onn 4k pro. Google Play services version 24.50.34 (180306- 713002902) and Google TV version 1.0.724429827 were the versions that worked for me. I tried uninstalling one at a time with no luck, uninstalling both did the trick. 

 

Updating both versions after the fact caused no issues. While testing the profiles, I did notice that rapid switching caused issues with Google TV loading; however, a quick power cycle would fix it and allow me to resume using whichever profile I selected.

It works!

This did not work for me. When I uninstalled Google TV updates it went for version 1.0.6*** , not 1.0.7***
When I try to add the child account it fails even before the authentication...

I should've thought about uninstalling these updates, which is a common tactic. Hopefully, after updates, the kid profiles should remain.

I am experiencing this issue too full loop just factory reset TV today to solve a search bar and voice not working. Witch it fixed but now I can't put the account back on that was there before endless loop 😭

It finally worked!
I followed the method that PieHouse mentioned — uninstalling the updates for both Google Play Services and Google TV — and it solved the login loop for my kid’s profile. After that I was able to update both apps again without any issues. Thanks a lot PieHouse 🙌

I was finally able to add a child profile...
However, I'm still stuck! I can't setup a youtube kids without ads. I pay youtube premium and my kid should not need to see any FU***** ad!  I have seriously tried for HOURS! It's either NOT THERE. I set it you but it does not show on her profile .. or is the Youtube pre-teeens with **bleep**loads of ads, becasue this one you need to pay extra ... 
Seriously ... I will give it another go but it it does not work I will simply cancel my subscription and delete youtube for good. This is madness!
