Hi Ernest1,

Thanks for posting. I understand that you want to cast with your Phillips projector, we're here to help!

In this case your Phillips projectors typically don't have built-in speakers, there are a few ways to get audio:

  1. Connect a third-party speaker: This is the option you mentioned, and it allows you to enjoy sound through an external speaker system.
  2. Cast to a device with speakers: If you have a smart TV, soundbar, or other Chromecast-enabled device with speakers, you can cast directly to that device for audio playback.

Feel free to call us if you need more help you can connect with one of our specialists for further assistance.

Jenny

Hi Ernest1,

Thanks for the update. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, so based on the information that you provided us it seems the Phillips projector might not be fully compatible with the Chromecast. Just to confirm could you please tell me what Chromecast device do you have?

Please keep me posted, I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Jenny

Hi Ernest1,

Thanks for your response. In this case we need to make sure about the specification to the compatibility with the Phillips projector and the Chromecast 3 to make sure that it can work smoothly.

Hardware and broadband requirements

All Chromecast devices require a TV with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 or higher built-in. HDCP 2.2 is required to support 4K content.

To view 4K or Ultra High-definition (UHD) content, in addition to the requirements listed above, your equipment must meet the following requirements:

  • For 4K content, you need a 4K-capable TV and high-speed internet connection of at least 20 Mbps.
  • For High Dynamic Range (HDR) content, you need an HDR-capable TV.

Please check about this information and the "Requirements for Chromecast devices" article for detailed information.

Let me know if you need more help or if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Jenny
