Sub texts doesn't work when casting

I'm running Android 14, latest update.

When casting from a national app that used to work fine, I can't see sub titles anymore.

Sub titles work fine in the app but when I start casting they disappear and I can't turn them back on.

All apps are updated, cleared cache and data and I've rebooted both phone and Chromecast.

Automatic firmware update is on.

Firmware is 1.56.291998.

I really don't know what to try next 🥴

Hi numzie,

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. Based on the firmware version you shared, this must be a Chromecast 3rd Gen with updated firmware. Since this is an older version of the Chromecast device, the fact that it’s casting means it’s already doing its job. It doesn’t recognize subtitles, audio guides, translated languages, etc. As long as it knows it’s casting the content, then it’s working as intended. I suggest you check the settings of the app itself or the cast options on the phone. Try to cast the same app from a different phone or cast different apps with contents that have subtitles from different smartphones to compare. The objective is to identify if it’s the phone or the app itself that is causing this. Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
