Currently, the voice command button on the remote control turns on the TV and Chromecast automatically, and displays a response to the voice query. This is ok, although the voice starts answering before the TV even turns on, and the beginning of the answer is cut off.
But the voice command button on the remote doesn't switch to Chromecast when I'm on another HDMI source.
The answer turns on in the background(also without hearing the answer sound), but the screen still shows the other HDMI source.
I have the Polsat Box set-top box on, I press the voice command button on the fob and say something, and nothing happens. But if I switch manually to Chromecast, I can see that the answer is visible.
What can I do to make the TV switch to Chromecast when I use the voice command button?
Does this require some fix in the Chromecast software?
I will add that my TV is an old Samsung, somewhere 10 years old, but it has HDMI-CEC when it comes to on/off control.
Home button, YouTube, Netflix switch from Polsat Box to Chromecast.

Hi look997,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. Yes, the Chromecast device will be working in the background as it is plugged in and is connected to Wi-Fi, but if the TV itself is not compatible enough to control the input, it will stay on the cable box input and continuously play the shows. There are TVs that are completely compatible with the full remote’s controls (power, volume, input), but some TVs are just controllable for power and/or volume functions.
I hope this sheds some light on the situation. Let us know if you still have questions.
Thanks,
Kimy
