Volume increasing and decreasing on Chromcast

Hi! 

The volume on my tv keeps randomly increasing and decreasing. I know it is not a problem with the physical remote, because it does the same thing when I use my phone as a remote. I know it is a problem with the chromcast and not my TV, because when I disconnect chromcast this problem does not happen.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

• Are you using the latest version of the Google Home app available?
• Could you please confirm what the model of your Chromecast device is?
• Have you tried using your Chromecast on a different TV? Does it show the same behavior?
• Is your Chromecast linked to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?
• When was the last time it was working?
• Have there been any recent changes to your environment, such as a change in Wi-Fi network, recent outages, adding more Wi-Fi devices, etc.? 
• What is the status of the LED light that you can see on the Chromecast?

In the meantime, I recommend manually downloading the latest firmware update. Please follow these steps:

1. Open the Google Home app.
2. Go to devices. (the square with bars icon in the bottom of the screen)
3. Select your Chromecast.
4. Go to 'Settings" (the gear icon).
5. Choose "System."
6. Select "About."
7. Choose "System update."
