When streaming music using chromecast is the fidelity determined by the onboard DAC of streamer?

I am trying to take advantage of wifi quality when streaming music but can’t find information of how to stream with HD or Ultra HD that I use an outboard DAC to process. I cannot stream from the DAC so I would have to stream with the built in DAC’s or either my Android phone or my windows operating desktop. Chrome casting with my phone sounds MUCH cleaner than Bluetooth, but how do I maximize the streamed fidelity to match what I get over the internet?

Hey there Jim McLain,
Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to hop in here and help. I can understand wanting to get the best quality and clarity when it comes to streaming your music, and I'm happy to look into this for you.

I was able to find this article that may help with that. However, anything further, we aren't able to help with as we are not experts on sound quality and would not be able to figure out what else you would have to change to refine this.

Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Best regards,
