Hi,
The Xiaomi MiBox chromecast built-in is not available to add to a speaker group, why not?
It connects to Home app, and can cast and control, but Home does not allow me to add to a speaker group

Question: Is Xiaomi Mi Box a wireless or Bluetooth speaker?
Answer: No!

Hi, it is not, it is a TV box, but connected to an amp

In theory, you should be able to add your Mi Box device to a speaker group, but don't expect to control the volume of your group devices simultaneously.
Google just lost a round in court against Sonos claims for patent infringement.
Meanwhile, ensure that the phone, the Chromecast device and the Mi Box device are connected to the same WiFi bandwidth, disable AP (access point) isolation on your router and try again.

Hi Jeran
Thanks, you can close. Seems until Google opens their block on 3rd parties, it is useless

Hey there Erich,
Just for some closure, I wanted to let you know at this point, TVs with Chromecast built-in are not supported for speaker groups. Other devices with Chromecast built-in, such as speakers and soundbars, are compatible. If this is something you'd like to see changed in the future, feel free to submit feedback via Google Home.
If you run into any more issues in the future, feel free to create a new thread.
Thank you for helping out, djtetei!
Best regards,
Jeran
