YT autodub on Chromecast

Nataliya6

Hi! How do I disable youtube autodub when casting onto my TV with Chromecast? Please do NOT respond with your usual template - yes, both apps are up-to-date, yes I tried factory reset, yes, I turned it off and back on again, yes I can turn off the autodub on the video in the YT app when not casting, and all the rest of the standard troubleshooting. If you don't have a fix, please just say so. But if there is an option somewhere I can click to stop this ridiculous YT feature forcing itself on me when I cast, please let me know.

If there is no fix, please add my complaint to the pile of complaints I'm sure you already have - YT needs to fix this for you and your customers.

Many thanks,

Nataliya

Hi Nataliya6,

Thank you for posting in this community.

I understand that you are looking for a way to disable YouTube's AutoDub feature specifically when casting to your Chromecast. I appreciate the troubleshooting efforts you have tried to resolve this inconvenience. I understand your concern, and I'm ready to assist.

To answer your question, at this time, there is no setting within the Chromecast to disable the YouTube AutoDub feature.

The Chromecast is a streaming device (an adapter); its function is only to receive a signal from an app (like YouTube) and display it on your TV. The Chromecast itself does not have the ability to manage or control the content settings (like language preferences or AutoDub on/off) that are embedded within the YouTube application's stream.

Because the AutoDub feature is managed by the YouTube app, we recommend reaching out to YouTube TV support for assistance with their in-app content settings.

Feel free to keep us posted if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Virna
