YouTube audio quit on Chromecast, but works on other apps

While watching/listening to music on the YouTube app on my Chromecast with Google TV (HD), I used the remote to switch to a different video, and the audio stopped.  I checked the Netflix app, and the audio was still working perfectly.  I unplugged the Chromecast from the tv and the power for a minute, plugged it back in, and everything went back to normal.

But why would the audio stop for just one of the apps, instead of everything?

Hey there Shaymizz,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Were you able to fix that YouTube audio issue? If not, I'd be happy to help you out. In this case, go ahead and clear out the cached app data on the YouTube app. Here is how to do that:

  1. Go to the Google TV home screen.
  2. Select the profile icon in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Select Apps.
  5. Select See all apps.
  6. Scroll down and select the YouTube app.
  7. Select Storage & cache.
  8. Select Clear cache.

If the problem still persists, go ahead and uninstall and reinstall the YouTube app. I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran
