So I'm staying at a hotel where the WiFi provider needs the Mac address to give permission. To get permission I need to set up device. Since I can't set up the device to see it on my phone to get the mac address is there a way to get the mac address with the SN. It is not listed on the box, but the SN is.

The MAC address is only visible in the Home app after setup of the device. You can do this by using the Wifi hotspot feature on a phone or tablet. Note you will need 2 devices to set this up.
Chromecast with Google TV uses MAC address randomization. To stop the Wi-Fi MAC address randomization, you need to go to the Chromecast's settings on the TV itself and disable the "Use randomized MAC" option. Here's how:
Once turned off, open the Home app, tap the device in the Home app > Settings cog > Device information, where you'll see the MAC address at the bottom. Give this MAC address for whitelisting. Once whitelisted, it should connect to the Wi-Fi. Do note however that even then your phone or tablet may not be able to communicate with your Chromecast due to the security restrictions applied on these kinds of shared Wi-Fi networks.
