chromecast not connecting to my cellphone

My chromecast is hooked up correctly to my tv (white solid LED light).  It is not connecting to my cellphone (Ihave the Google Home app loaded on my cellphone.  Ultimately I want my TV to show what is happening on my new Oculus, Quest 2.  The Chromecast is set for my wifi 2.4.  I do have a lot of devices on my wifi 2.4 in my house.  When setting up I usually let the connection setup go for about 1 minute then hit next....nothing happens.  Should there be some sign that my chromecast has hooked up to my cellphone before I hit next?

I apologize about the late response, thank you for your patience! Were you able to fix that casting issue? If not, I'd be happy to help out, since I can imagine it's a bit overwhelming trying to get all of those devices to play nicely! Let me just ask you some questions about what's happening:

• Are you able to cast from your cellphone without the Oculus Quest 2?
• What type of phone are you using?
• What is the firmware version of your Chromecast?
• Have you checked out the Quest casting guide already?
• What troubleshooting steps have you already tried?
