my chromecast was working properly before. since yesterday my phone can't find it. there is no change on the wifi setting. i have unplugged, restarted and rebooted but kept getting the same message saying the device was connected but system cannot find it.
how do i fix it, pls?

Try these steps:
If none of the steps above help, factory reset your Chromecast and do setup again. Once setup, try casting from those app(s) again.

problem remained.
even my phone occasionally finds the Chromecast, it fails to connect.

Are you using any proxies or VPNs on your phone? If so, turn those off?
Does it still work with other devices in your home?

no. all settings are the same.
now if i use phone or tablet in the bedroom, can connect or control chromecast in the living room, but can't do that in the living room.
weird 😅

Do you have the 1 router, or do you have a mesh system with multiple Wifi points?
Do you use Wifi extenders or repeaters at all?

i m using wifi provided by the serviced apartment i m staying, so i don't know their setting. but my phone and tablet are working fine.

Is a shared type Wifi where you need to login first or register devices to access the internet?

yes, it's a shared wifi. i have to login.

Then I don't understand how your Chromecast has ever worked, as it doesn't support those kinds of Wifi networks that require you to login first, known as captive portals. Maybe you can ask your apartment manager if there have been any recent changes? Did you have to register your Chromecast to get it to work perhaps?
If all else fails, there are a couple of possible solutions for this:

really?but it was working perfectly before. i only had to login wifi on the day i moved in then my phone will automatically connect everytime. i didn't have to register the chromecast. I'll check with the management. thank you so much for your reply.

I'm afraid so, listed in the help centre here underneath incompatible networks, which has me puzzled as to why it's worked for you until now. It does make me think a recent change, so best to check with the management.
