Hey all, I can't connect my windows laptop to chromecast.
I have reset the chromecast multiple times, I have rebooted my laptop multiple times, all the devices are on the same connection. I can cast from my android phone, iphone and macbook but my TV nor my device is found when I try to cast. If all these other devices are able to connect, maybe it's my chrome browser? It is up to date and I have even reinstalled it a couple times.
Any help is highly appreciated!
Thanks!

Hi @chromecast_fail,
I understand how frustrating it must be to be unable to cast from your Windows laptop to your Chromecast when all your other devices work seamlessly. It seems the issue is isolated to the Windows laptop, as other devices can connect successfully. This suggests a potential problem with the laptop's network settings, Chrome browser, or a specific software conflict.
Potential Solutions:
Network related issue:
Check Network Settings:
Router Troubleshooting:
Chrome browser issue
Windows system issue
If these steps don't resolve the issue, provide more details about your setup:
By providing more information, we can offer more tailored troubleshooting advice.

None of these solutions have worked for me - I can see the cast button - but still says no device found - I did a 'reset to default apps' would that have made a difference? What else can I check on my PC?

Under the 3 dots at the top right - there used to be an option saying - 'cast' that has now moved further down and says 'Cast, save and share'
Also The cast square - used to allow Cast Screen and Cast Tab - now only says Cast Tab
No Device Found
I have set up the HOME properly on my Android - but Google Chrome on my laptop is still not detecting my TV.
Hope that helps..and await your reply.
The TV is a Samsung EU32EH5000W

I tried all of that and it still didn't work!
My windows is up to date, I've only got one network to connect to and network settings are just as you've recommended.
I moved homes and suddenly it won't connect and I can't cast so I don't think it's really the settings that have changed.

Solution found - in case it helps anyone else...
I uninstalled the Google Home App and reinstalled it - it worked and was that simple.
