Google Home App Setup Issue

 I’ve had my Google home mini since 2019. I’ve had no problems with it until last week. No idea why, but I asked it a question and it told me I needed to sign in, don’t know why it signed me out. Signed back in, and it still was telling me to sign in. So I reset the mini, re downloaded the app, and now it won’t let me past this screen. Every time I try to start the set up for the assistant, I get this error code. I’ve reset my stuff 4 times now with no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

Thanks again for that update. I have seen that error when a device is used in an unsupported region or language but have not seen it happen in a case like yours. 

I am going to forward this over to our Community Specialists and see if they can offer any help. In the meantime, try rebooting your network.

Thanks again for trying the app reinstall, FDR and repeated tries to get that device set up.

Hi,

What language do you have set in your phone's settings app, as well as in the Google Home app? Can you also let us know the country or region you are located?

JillG, thanks for the assistance. 

 

Ksnyder6, are you using a regular Google Account? Are you using an Android or iOS device? Also, have you tried using a different phone in setting up your Google speaker?

 

If the issue persists, try using a different Google Account to isolate the issue.

Hey Ksnyder6,

 

Thanks for coming back to us. To confirm, are you using a regular Google Account? What is the make and model of your phone? Have you tried using a different phone in setting up your Google speaker? 

 

Please note that you don't need to reset the router as we are trying to isolate account issue here.

Hi there. I’m currently in a situation where I’m living with my parents, and they will not let me reset the WiFi router 😑😑😑. I’m not going to argue with them over something like this. I will actually be moving back out of their house around the beginning of September and will be getting a new wife router, so I will try to do another set up then and see if that resolves the issue. Sorry, it’s going to be another month to see if this gets fixed 😂. I’ll keep this thread in mind and update it then.
