Google assistant keeps taking my requests all wrong.

Hey all. Is there a way to fix this?

I ask my google assistant the very simple request of "play ordinary world by Hyde" it writes exactly that on the screen and then google's voice says "playing ordinary world by Morgan Cucurullo" or sometimes another artist or any other version of that Morgan but not Hyde. Time and time again.

My only fix is to stop using voice comand, pick up my phone and go on my linked spotify account (that has premium btw if that changes anything) to type it up on the search and that way control the play on the hub.

I would understand if it was my pronunciation that made the assistant confused but as the correct artist shows on the screen as it's writing my words that can't be it.

What is causing this, how do I fix it for good? I keep blocking artists on spotify as google plays those but it always finds another option that is not the artist I do want to play instead of my command.

Also, half the time I ask "hey google, connect to Bluetooth speaker" it replies with "here's how to connect a Bluetooth speaker" with on screen commands or a youtube tutorial and the other half it does connect to the only speaker I have on memory..

That sounds about right. I ask Google to tell me the time in one city, by name, it types my question and city correctly on Nest Display and then it proceeds to rename the city and tell me the wrong city's time. Meanwhile, I am like: WHY THE HELL WOULD YOU DO THAT?

And it does this quite a few times everyday. Used to work almost fine (it's never been perfect tbh). I wish Google would fix this quickly, as there are many people complaining about this same exact issue.

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.

I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused everyone, let me help you out. A few things: When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made before the issue started? What steps have you taken so far? Do you have another Nest speaker? If so, are they doing the same thing?

You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest speakers/displays for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh both devices and your Wi-Fi signal.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Juni

Hey there,

I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help. Have you had the chance to try the suggestion above? If yes, how is it?

Best,

Dan
