Link Spotify to Google home

I can’t Link my Spotify account to my Google home account. Both have same email. After I click Spotify under music service, I get error messages: something went wrong, try again. I have uninstall/reinstall both apps on iPhone, still getting same error message.

Thanks for reaching out — let's figure it out.

 

Please give these steps a try: 

 

  1. Make sure your speakers or displays and phone are connected on the same network.
  2. Reboot your phone.
  3. Since you're an iOS device, make sure Local Network Access is turned on for the Google Home app.
  4. If all fails, try using a different phone.
  5. Resetting your devices might help too.

Thank you all for comments on this problem.  None of these worked. We did get spotify linked with my wife's phone. Now another problem. Every day when we try to use speaker it says, "trying to connect to wifi". It never works until we unplug / replug it. How to fix this problem without unplug/replug?

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you, to check how far is your Google Home from your router? Are you using a private network? If so, do you have a dual-band router? Could you please try rebooting your router and speaker to refresh the connection?

I rebooted my router and speaker to refresh the connection today. So far it works but should wait a few days to confirm it remains fixed.
