Hi everyone,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra with Android version 13, OneUI version 5.1. I've had my Nest doorbell and several other cameras for a few years now on differnt phones (Galaxy S8, S10+, S21 Ultra) and haven't encountered this issue before. My camera notifications no longer work until the phone is unlocked. I've added the Nest app to the "Never Sleeping Apps", changed the battery setting for the app to "Unrestricted", cleared the cache, uninstalled and re-installed the app, turned my phone off for (30) minutes, made sure all ofthe notification settings are configured correctly (allowed), but I still cannot get it to trigger the notifications while the phone is locked. My "Lock Screen Notifications are enabled at the device and app level. I've scoured the web and none of the suggestions seem to work. I've used the "DontKillMyApp" Benchmark app, but it doesn't provide any insight as to why it doesn't work when the phone is locked. Any ideas?

Should we connect our nest devices to our phone hot spots? This seems like you're trying to point blame at LAN performance, despite many of us stating we are on Google fiber or similar. I am on a symmetrical gigabit connection and my other cameras have zero issues. This is a Google Nest app problem. Why not just say "our engineers are aware of the problem and are working on a fix"? Because Google is purposefully abandoning the Nest platform instead of migrating everything over to Home

I didn't try any of the solutions mentioned, however, as of yesterday the problem for me stopped and I began getting alerts on my phone again even though my phone screen was locked. As a matter of fact, I seem to be getting them more quickly than I did previously. Within about 2 to 4 seconds now as opposed to 6 to 8 seconds in the past.

FWIW - Once I removed the Nest Hello and installed an Arlo Essential, every problem I've had (hours late notification, no notification at all, notifications not arriving until I unlocked the phone) all disappeared. I won't repeat all the troubleshooting I had done. It's all documented in previous posts.

I haven't made any changes to my phone or apps since testing in the previous weeks, but for some reason, it's working as it should today. Let's see how many days it goes on.

2 days later, it's still working as it should. Again, I have made no setting changes. It just started working. The only thing I did, which I can't imagine it making a difference, is that I hit the physical volume button, then on the home screen, I turned the volume off overnight on Thursday and back on Frinday morning. That's when it started working gain.
