Not receiving password reset email from nest

Not receiving password reset email from nest

Checked spam filter not hitting spam filter.

Added accounts.nest.com and nest.com to the whitelist on the spam filter.

Still no email.

Please provide some next steps.

Call [REDACTED].  They helped me reset my password.

Garrett, if you look at this string of complaints, EVERYONE is having the same issue which tells me Google has a problem they need to fix IMMEDIATELY. I am adding my name to the list of frustrated customers...this is insane. When I get home, I'm pulling out this device, trashing it and trashing the product on social media. Set up a customer service hotline so people can call and get resolution. Your responses are NOT helpful. At. All.

I was able to speak with someone at 1-855-469-6378.   I spent 25 minutes on the phone with her.  She could see my account on her end, and she talked me through it.  Try calling this number.  I was having the same issue.

Hi jnorris since so many of us are having the same issue and we are not getting help from Nest could you please walk us through it

 It appears we are all asked to sign in and most have Gmail account. We know our account and we know our password yet it says does not recognize email or password. We have to click reset password then it would go to our Gmail etc but we do not receive any emails.  So please how did they help you fix you problem. Thank you much.

I did have nest in the whitelist of my gmail account.

I checked my spam folder and emails from Nest are not in there.

Hi Jrod I just saw your response. I only see spam in my Gmail. I do not see whitelist in Gmail.  It is not in spam.  Is there something I am missing. Thank you much!

Thanks for letting me know what you have tried.

Would you mind trying the following steps as well?

  1. Double check that you entered the email address that you used to sign up for your account.
  2. Double check that you use a Nest Account, not a Google Account.
  3. Check your spam email folder.
  4. Try requesting the reset password email again.

I am not receiving the email to reset my password either, and I have tried all of the above steps.

Still having issues, there must be another way around this?

Tried all. Check minimum ten times but still doesn’t received instructions how to change the password via email. Very frustrating. My thermostats doesn’t work through the app. I am using the password i know and still saying incorrect password or email id. I used my gmail address when set it up and using the same email now but it just doesn’t work

Yes.  All resolved.

Well, I can't login, nor can I reset my password because I am not receiving a password reset. I receive notifications someone is there on my phone but I can't view and the doorbell is not ringing. 

How? SMH I need help

If I used a Google email to sign up for my best account how do I differentiate?

I am having the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS! 
I have also tried the EXACT SAME THINGS!!!

I am about to RETURN ALL EQUIPMENT & ASK FOR REFUND as well as NOT PURCHASE MY PENDING EQUIPMENT!!!

Tried all of these multiple times and am in shock that this has been an issue for months and it has not been resolved.

Not in spam. It is a Gmail however it is google home auto directing to nest to combine and nest opens window for email and password sign and as above doesn't accept the email and password. No email is sent and nothing in spam.  Appears to be a nest issue perhaps your webmaster may be able to fix. It is extremely frustrating and now I cannot complete entering rest of security devices

I have just requested the password reset again (using email ... ).  Entered the email address used for the Nest account correctly.  Checked inbox, social media, promotion, and spam folders and there is no Nest email to reset the password.

I would suggest adding Nest to your whitelist within the email inbox so that you can receive the emails that you are trying to get.

Likewise not getting a password reset. Likewise checked all of my folders. Likewise, I have whitelisted nest.com in my email. Likewise am sure that I am using the correct email. I have not, and will not, create a new email so I can get a password reset from any vendor. 

Please find a way to get password resets to your customers that love the product but are frustrated with the support services.

Please advise.

BTW, I just received a 'congrats' on becoming a Nest community member... using the email that I use for the password reset!!!

Sorry to hear that you're still not receiving the emails. Unfortunately there isn't a way for me to send the password reset email directly to you. 

I would try going through these troubleshooting steps though to see if that helps.

Tried all the above.  Nest rep said they no longer have control over Nest!  I would have to sign in with Google which I wont do because Google wants access to all my files/computer.

I understand the frustrations that you're all experiencing and would appreciate it if you went through the following steps. 

I would try going through these troubleshooting steps though to see if that helps. 

  1. Double check that you entered the email address that you used to sign up for your account.
  2. Double check that you use a Nest Account, not a Google Account.
  3. Check your spam email folder.
  4. Try requesting the reset password email again.

Please keep in mind that your email should be a Gmail email, not a Gsuite email, and not anything else as that is your best option for you to receive the email that you are needing.

Thank you for passing this feedback forward. Please escalate this further as this is evidently an issue for many people. If google cannot correct this in an expeditious manner, then i would suggest a full refund to all Google Nest Doorbell owners. We can the use the money to purchase a system that works and does not fail. 

I have had connectivity issues as well with this device. It somehow disconnects from the WiFi at almost the same time, and does not reconnect for an unreasonable amount of time.

My issue is on a new camera I’ve added to my Google Home app but it doesn’t work on my Nest app. This is obviously a multi product problem.

Same issue. Very frustrating. 

Is this supposed to be the fix? I have repeatedly tried to have a reset sent to my email and have received nothing.  
How do I get back to using my Nest app?

Stop giving the same answer..check email, check spam. We have all done that. You are assuming we are all idiots by repeating the same answer. Fix the **bleep** problem. It’s your problem, not ours. I will never get any nest items and will never recommend them to anyone.
