Remove an old TV from my Google home app

I went to an air b and b and put the tv there on my Home app. I would like to know how I can remove it. there doesn't seem to be an option to remove it.

Thank you in advance.

You might want to try to move the unused tv to a new Home that you create in the app. Once you move the device to the new home delete that "home".

I haven't run into this issue but have seen many posts here in the Community and seems this workaround is the best way to resolve the undeletable tv.

Okay, thanks again for trying all that. I escalated this over to the Nest team to see if they know any other ways to help.

In the meantime you can clear the Google Home app cache if you haven't already.

  • Why has nothing been done to resolve this issue? I have the same problem. I purchased a new TV and I can't get rid of the old one.

Hey goes2fast,

Thanks for reaching out.

Try these steps:

  1. Open the Google home app.
  2. Tap your device > Settings >  Unlink or Remove device > Unlink or Remove.

If the issue persists, try creating a new home structure and move your active device there and delete the old one.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

Thank you for the response. I tried that but as soon as I deleted the new home the device went back to the original home.

Darn...

Does the info in this older thread help?  Can't remove device from Google Home app - Google Nest Community

I just tried that and it says 0 unused devices. I have created another home and moved it into that. It's so strange that there isn't a remove device option in google home. Is this something that will be coming in the future.
