Request to manage

I just connected a kasa lightbulb to my google home app, but when I ask my google home mini to change the color or do anything besides turn it on and off, it tells me that I need to go to assistant settings. the app also says that i have to send a “request to manage” and when I do that, nothing happens. I don’t know what that means or how long I have to wait for it work. I tried starting a new home, that didn’t work. I also tried to unlink it and relink it but I ran into the exact same issue as before.

Thanks for visiting the Community. 

 

To confirm, are you the account manager/home owner for your Google Home and Kasa devices? If not, are you a member of the home structure? Could you try unlinking your Kasa account. Once done, try resetting your Google Home Mini to its default settings.
