As many others, I am unable to remove devices that have been once connected but later removed from my home before being deleted from my Google Home app. I have read many threads but no solution so far. For instance, I had a Google Chromecast configured in my Google Home app. The Chromecast is gone but I still have the greyed tile on the device list with a useless "Disconnected device" message appearing when clicking on it. On this same screen, clicking on the gear icon displays the following message: "Unable to access device settings".
So how to remove it from my Google Home app list of devices?
This issue is YEARS old and I though the revamped Google Home app will finally solve it. I am now part of the Public Preview of the redesigned app and the issue is still there!
Did anyone find a solution to this issue?

This may not work on the preview.
Create a new home in the app. Put the offending devices in the new home. Delete the new home.

Yeh! That works. Thanks!
PS: Is anyone at Google planning to fix this with a simple "delete" option?

Wouldn't know, we are just end users like yourself helping out other end users. You can ask for the feature to be added just say "hey Google send feedback".
