1st Gen Camera History - Won’t Playback

when I purchased these 1st gen cameras I could playback the footage fine in the nest app. It seems ever since the google home app came out, I can’t playback anything! I see the clips, and how many seconds they are. I can also scroll back 3 hours to different stills but there appears no way to play them as videos. Having the issue in both apps (google home and nest). Anyone else have this issue?

Do you have a Nest Aware or Nest Aware Plus subscription ($60/year or $120/year to cover all your cameras)? Google Nest cameras come with a 30-day free Nest Aware subscription. Once that's expired, without a subscription you get "3 hours of photo snapshots of activity", according to this Google Nest Help page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9681538?hl=en.  If you have the older 1st gen cameras, you can only view history in the Google Nest app (with a subscription).

Wow, yes sadly at some point nest aware must have been required to playback video. When I first purchased the cameras that was not the case - I received a certain amount of video playback for free. After purchasing the subscription I can now pay the clips.

Agree, tge new google nest cams have awful playback features.  Not helpful at all… I am switching to a new camera system completely.since Google wont even allow me to have the new caneras with the old nest playback
