Just got the new nest indoor/outdoor camera with the plugged in and about 40% of the time I can't see the live view just the history. I read that this happened about 6 months ago with an update coming to fix the problem. Not sure if there was an update but I am having the same problem. Need help with this

@Lorek

We've had a battery camera since Sept. 2021, plugged in with the optional power cable, and it's been "Live" and online ever since.

When you first installed your camera, was it plugged in with the optional power cable before you installed it, so that during the install process the camera recognized it was plugged in? When you check your camera in the Google Home app, does Settings | Battery show the camera as "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol? Do you have a good wi-fi signal at your camera's location?

If the answer is "Yes" to all of these questions, you could try contacting Support, using the link and instructions in this post:

Hi folks,

Thanks for chiming in, @MplsCustomer

@Lorek, uh-oh! I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with the live view on your new Nest Indoor/Outdoor Camera, where you're unable to see the live feed but can access the recorded history, here's a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Ensure your camera has a stable internet connection, strong Wi-Fi signal in the installation area, and try moving the camera closer to your router to test its connection strength.
  2. Reset your camera's settings and resolve temporary issues by power cycling and unplugging it from the power source, waiting a few seconds, and then plugging it back in.
  3. Ensure your Nest Camera is running on the latest firmware version, which often includes bug fixes and performance improvements. Check the Nest app for updates.
  4. Restart the Nest app on your smartphone or tablet to resolve temporary glitches or connectivity issues that may affect the live view.
  5. Ensure you have the latest version of the Nest app installed on your device and check if the issue persists after updating the app from the app store.

Let us know how that works.

Best,

Zoe
