2nd gen wired cameras don’t stream video to Chromecast

Just got my first Nest 2nd gen wired indoor camera and thought I’d be able to tell my Google assistant to “show me”…the name of the camera on “TV X” but I get back an error message from the Google assistant saying that the camera doesn’t support streaming live video to other screens. I know it will stream the video to a nest hub or hub max, but does anyone know if Google/Nest are planning to make it possible to view your Nest camera streams on a chromecast?

Thanks!

They know. They dont care

🤣Seriously? To me it seems like they’ve done this on purpose. I mean just about every other app is capable of sending its stream to a chromecast, and the cameras are too obviously since they can send it to a Nest hub. Seems like rather than “not building” this functionality into the cameras, the functionality is already there and they’ve purposely disabled it. Maybe a marketing play to sell more Nest hubs…?

I hope they fix this soon
